No. You can't hide negative reviews on Google whenever you feel like it. They're only removed if they violate Google's policies. What you do control: how you respond, whether you report for a legitimate reason, and how many good, recent reviews you earn from real customers.

01

The short answer

  • There's no "hide" button for business owners.
  • Deleting reviews or paying someone to "make them disappear" is usually fraud or a policy violation.
  • What you can do: respond, report (when it applies), and raise your average with more legitimate reviews.
02

What not to do

  1. Argue with or insult the reviewer in your public reply.
  2. Post fake reviews to "balance things out."
  3. Offer money or discounts in exchange for 5 stars (Google prohibits it).
  4. Hire "services" that promise to delete reviews with no policy basis.

“A calm, professional reply is worth more than trying to bury the problem.”

03

When Google can remove a review

Google reviews reports, but it doesn't promise to take down a review just because it's unfair or one star. It typically acts when there's a clear policy violation, for example:

  • Spam or misleading advertising.
  • Conflict of interest (a competitor, an undisclosed employee, etc., under current rules).
  • Illegal content, hate speech, threats, or sensitive personal information.
  • Off-topic or clearly fake reviews (always at Google's discretion).

Where to report: open the review in Maps or on your profile → menu (⋮) → Report review. Explain the reason with facts, not frustration.

What to do if you get a bad review

  1. 01

    1. Read it calmly (and privately)

Note what's true, what's exaggerated, and whether you can reach the customer outside Google. Don't reply while you're upset.

  2. 02

    2. Reply publicly (within 24–48 hours)

Where: Reviews → Reply. Thank them, acknowledge the issue without arguing, offer to resolve it by phone or email, and leave your contact info. Everyone who reads it later will see how you treat people.

  3. 03

    3. Does it break the rules? Report it

Only if there's a real reason (spam, hate speech, a clear conflict of interest). If it's "they didn't like the price" or "they waited too long," Google almost never removes it: reply and improve your service.

  4. 04

    4. Fix the root cause

Wrong hours on your profile, poor communication, delays… If the review points to a real problem, fix it. That prevents the next review just like it.

  5. 05

    5. Ask happy customers for reviews

Right after a great job: send your review link via WhatsApp or text. More recent, real reviews dilute the impact of a bad one — no tricks needed.

Never replying at all.Replying within 48 hours, even if it's brief and professional.
Arguing about the price line by line in public.Offering to review the case privately and closing with a willingness to help.

Key takeaways

  • You can't hide negative reviews on demand.
  • Report only reviews that violate Google's policies.
  • Always reply: stay calm, offer a fix, share your contact info.
  • Earn more real, recent reviews; never offset with fake ones.
